Meet Doctor Sherrill Jordan

Meet Doctor Sherrill Jordan

Well, I've always wanted to be a dentist since I was three years old. I had a really good pediatric dentist, so I just never wanted to do anything else, and so that's always been my goal. I love taking care of people in this way.

It's very hands-on. Get to serve people, help them when they're in pain. I just love doing this.

I went to dental school at UNC Chapel Hill. I also went to undergrad at UNC Chapel Hill. I'm a huge Tar Heel.

Chapel Hill was the only place I ever wanted to go to dental school, and so I've always loved learning, and so continuing with that learning after dental school just to better serve my patients, keep up with all the changes that are happening in dentistry, all the new technology, and 1,100 hours in continuing education. I'm always trying to learn more so I can better serve my patients. I think the most rewarding thing about what I get to do every day, what I'm blessed to do every day, is just having our patients thank us, realizing that we are helping people, you know, that we are, and that's really what it's all about, that we're here to help people, and it takes a lot of trust, and so I think that that is a high compliment when someone who's nervous, and we're able to help them, and then they end up thanking us, and then they come back.

That's rewarding, you know, to make a difference.

Meet Sherrill Jordan

DDS, FAGD

Dr. Sherrill Jordan is first and foremost a Christian, then a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Dr. Jordan completed her undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated with honors from the UNC School of Dentistry in 2007.

While in college, Dr. Jordan played trumpet for the Marching Tarheels and remains a huge Tarheel fan. To this day, she has never missed one of their homecoming events.

I'm A FAGD Dentist!

What does this mean for you and your family?

FAGD stands for Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. Earning Fellowship takes dedication to continue dental education beyond graduation. Only about six percent of general dentists in the U.S. and Canada are AGD Fellows. When you see a dentist with FAGD after their name, you can rest assured that they care about knowing the latest techniques and best practices in dentistry. AGD Fellows practice these techniques in a classroom setting multiple times a year.

To become an AGD Fellow, a dentist must:

  • Complete over 500 credit hours of continuing education.
  • Earn 350 of those 500 credits in live courses.
  • Pass an exam equal in difficulty to board certification exams.
