Replace missing and damaged teeth

Replace missing and damaged teeth

Crowns and bridges, the difference between them. A crown is a restoration that replaces or places over the crown of your tooth. So if you have a filling that's just ginormous and it's, you know, cracking and the tooth is compromised, then we can place a crown over the top of it to help protect it so it won't break anymore.

And with a bridge, it's basically a bridge over water. So if you have a tooth that has a large restoration here, you have a missing tooth, and you have a tooth that has a large restoration here, then we can do basically two crown preps. And then we put a bridge and a bridge has two spots for what we call retainer crowns.

Those go over the crown prep tooth, and then we have one in the middle that connects it that's a fake tooth. That's a good option if a dental implant is not an option in that space. Obviously, if you're missing a tooth and you have a bridge, that's going to change the way you're able to chew and all those kind of things.

A crown is going to help you keep your tooth for longer.

We design and craft your restoration without sending anything to an outside lab. Skip the messy temporary crown and the follow-up appointment entirely. It's all done right here while you wait.

Our digital scanner maps every detail of your tooth in minutes. A specialized milling machine carves your custom crown from a solid block of tooth-colored ceramic right in front of you.

We will place your restoration and ensure a perfect fit so that you can walk out the door and back to normal life without any hesitation.

Choose the Best Option for Missing Teeth

Different gaps call for different solutions, and we offer several reliable choices. Conventional bridges connect to the teeth flanking your empty space, giving you a solid fix at a lower cost.

Implant crowns use surgical posts placed in your jawbone to hold individual replacement teeth. Implant bridges support several connected teeth using strategically placed posts instead of relying on adjacent natural teeth.

Implant-based options keep your jawbone healthy and typically outlast conventional bridges. We'll evaluate your mouth, talk through costs and healing times, and recommend what makes sense for your situation.

Each restoration type mimics real teeth in both appearance and performance.

Frequently Asked Questions About Dental Crowns & Bridges

How long does it take to make dental crowns?
Our high-quality dental crowns are created right here in our practice using CEREC same-day technology. In a single appointment, we can design and fabricate your new restoration and place it over your tooth comfortably to mimic the look and function of a natural tooth. This allows you to avoid the potential hassles and discomfort of a temporary crown.
How are dental bridges attached?
For traditional bridges, healthy teeth are reshaped to create what's called abutments. The bridge is bonded to those teeth, which provide the support for your bridge. You also can get implant-supported bridges. With implants, you don't have to do anything to nearby teeth to keep your bridge in position.
How long do dental crowns and bridges last?
With proper care, crowns and bridges can last for a decade. In fact, it's not unusual for these restorations to last 20 years or more with proper care. Over time, the adhesives used to bond these restorations to teeth can wear down. This can allow the restorations to come loose. Tooth decay can also affect the life span of crowns and bridges.
